The 2015 CFNU Biennial Convention
June 1 – 5, 2015 in Halifax, Nova Scotia
If you are interested, please submit in writing to the Local 301 office your name, contact information,
along with a brief description as to why you would like to attend the convention. You must be a Local
301 member in good standing to qualify.
Deadline is noon on January 29, 2015.
Local 301 will fund the costs of registration, accommodation, meals, flight, airport transfer to and from
hotel in Halifax and salary replacement for 4 (7.75 hour) days. Local 301 Policy #7 applies.

Happy New Year !
Here are some of the happenings at our local over the next month:
January 14 1800 hrs pre general meeting workshop educator Murray Billett will be presenting an overview on the importance of "Note Taking" in UNA meetings. While the focus is specific to UNA these note taking skills are applicable today to both professional and/or personal meetings. These principals also apply to our charting requirements. Capturing the discerning comments that reflect the essence of what was discussed in a meeting. Additionally, he will do a quick review of some the new additions and ammendments to our UNA Collective Agreement.
January 15 at WEM Barb Bancroft full day workshop - topic " THE WHOLE NEW WORLD OF POLYPHARMACY AWAITS YOU!" Spaces still left. Call our office for late registrations.
Vacation Planners should be up with correct seniority list, number of people off in a 24 hour period and an overview of the guidelines- new this year-must put 75% of vacation accrued from last year on the planner. Call us if there are issues arising as soon as possible.
Call out for CFNU conference in Halifax June 1-5th, 2015- place your name in the draw. 6 members will be locally funded to go. Deadline January 29 at noon -see poster details. Please check out Provincial Office draw as well.
Please note maternity/paternity benefit changes with new agreement. Any member who begins mat leave on or after October 2014 could opt to have the benefits cost shared for an additional 12 full weeks following the conclusion of the health related period of the leave.
Watch for posters advertising from the Wellness Committee for "Showtime" (short movies/TV shows) January 23 over the lunch hour and " Do the Loop Event" January 28.
